The front desk gentleman was especially kind. He even came out and offered me a breakfast sandwich, which was a nice touch. I was here for four days and had a peaceful stay, with no bug problems like some other reviews mentioned. The room was about what I expected for the price, nothing fancy but not shabby. Breakfast didn’t have much selection, though I’m usually just a coffee person in the morning. I had a great stay.

We checked in Friday, Aug 26, 2025, and within ten minutes had killed five roaches crawling on the walls. I told the front desk I wanted a refund. He refused and offered to move us to another room, but I said no because if one room had bugs, they were probably in all of them. As soon as he refunded my money, he told me to hurry up and get off his property before he called the police. Don’t stay there. It’s nasty.

The room looked fine when I checked it, but at bedtime I found bed bugs. I called, and they tried to say I was the problem and that they had no bugs, then hung up on me. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you care about your belongings and furniture, since you could bring bed bugs home with you.

I was bracing for the worst after reading the reviews, but the room was decent and I didn’t see any bugs. The air conditioning was noisy, which was my only complaint. Otherwise, it was a good stay. The guy at the front desk was very friendly, and breakfast was good.

I felt disrespected at HWY Express Inn in a way I never have at a hospitality business. The short Indian man working reception was rude, uncouth, and very unprofessional, with no customer service or compassion for his job. I won’t stay at this motel again. I’ll also discourage my friends and social circle who live in OSU and Stillwater from using Hwy Express Inn because I don’t want them to experience the receptionist’s rudeness and unprofessionalism.
