Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Suffolk by IHG

Janet was a star in the morning. The hot breakfast was freshly made and actually hot, with plenty of choices for different diets. The dining area was spotless, the coffee was great, and everything was organized so well. Thanks to the whole team. After a nine-hour drive, Suffolk HIE turned out to be a lovely surprise. Duke greeted us at the desk, was very polite, and gave us great restaurant tips. The room was immaculate and smelled clean, without that musty hotel odor. We’ll keep this place in mind for future trips through the Southeast.

Janet, who we started calling Joyful Janet, greeted us at breakfast every morning with such a sunny attitude and got our day off right. The other staff were kind too. The room was just okay, though the bedding didn’t smell especially clean, and the windows were so thin that outside noise came through.

The staff were so friendly and the customer service was amazing. Janet ran the breakfast area the night we stayed, and she was phenomenal, attentive, and a pleasure to talk with. The food was hot, and the eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. Of all the Holiday Inn Express hotels we’ve visited, this had the best breakfast. The room was great, with strong shower pressure. The location was perfect for us, about a ten-minute drive downtown and with at least five restaurants within walking distance.

Jess was a big help adjusting our accommodations and getting us settled. Housekeeping were friendly, the room was clean, and breakfast was good. I enjoyed chatting with Ms Janey, and the gentleman serving breakfast was very nice too. There are restaurants all around the hotel and several gas stations nearby. I’d recommend staying here for a quick trip or overnight.
