Holiday Inn Express Sulphur

The property was clean and well kept, and the rooms had good amenities. But the staff's manner made the visit tense, especially around children. Normal kid behavior, like playing and having fun in the pool or outdoor common areas, was watched and criticized. It felt like we had to walk on eggshells instead of feeling welcome. At check-in, we were asked to sign a form saying we wouldn't be overly loud or disorderly. We understand basic rules, but that put us on edge right away. Families looking for a relaxed, welcoming stay may not find this a good fit. If you're traveling without kids and want a very quiet place, it might work for you.

Great beds, nice views, and a hot tub I really liked. Service was good overall, though sometimes it was hard to reach the staff. That wasn't a major issue, and the stay was solid for the price.

The road noise was bothersome, and the light on the smoke alarm was bright enough to light up the whole room at night. Aside from that, it was a nice, clean hotel with comfortable beds, good staff, and breakfast a little better than the usual Holiday Inn Express offering. I'd stay here again.

The elevator feels like it might come off its rails, and the TVs weren’t working at first. The staff eventually did something about the upstairs kids stomping, though, and the TV worked the next day when I came back for night two. Still, being kept awake downstairs at midnight and paying $150-$175 a night made this a huge disappointment.
