SpringHill Suites Phoenix Airport/Tempe

The room was clean and modern, with a comfortable bed and a separate mirror outside the large bathroom. It’s in a safe, convenient spot for Phoenix, whether you’re here for work or leisure. The staff were professional, and the place feels nicer than you’d expect for the affordable rate. A restful stay.

There’s a nice walking path by the river nearby, and the little gym has what you need for a quick workout. The location is practical for an early flight or short visit, not too far from the airport. You can hear planes now and then, but they didn’t interrupt my sleep. Breakfast was decent, and I liked the free hot drinks by reception, though the tea water was only lukewarm. There weren’t restaurants or food options right nearby, so without a car you’ll need to order online. The pool gate was unlocked, and the pool area needed care, with sandy, wobbly tables. My room also had stains on the bedside table and hair in the shower, so it didn’t seem thoroughly cleaned. The shower was awkward too, since you have to step in and get wet before you can adjust the water temperature.

The staff were friendly, and the sunrise was beautiful. We stayed two nights and found the room spacious and the airport location convenient. Breakfast was included and delicious, and it was nice to have coffee whenever we wanted.

I’d seen several bad reviews before arriving, so I wasn’t expecting much. The place turned out to be surprisingly snazzy. We were on the fourth floor and never heard a plane overhead. The desk staff were always helpful, and the shuttle can take you anywhere within two miles whenever you want, if it’s available. Breakfast had a huge selection, including gluten-free choices, instead of just the usual muffins and coffee. There’s laundry on site, and the machines take credit cards. A full load cost me $5.25, which wasn’t bad. We’ll definitely come back.
