Home 2 Suites by Hilton Temple

We came to Temple a day early to visit our new twin grandbabies and get ahead of the weather, but the stay was miserable. I’d requested an accessible room and wasn’t given one. The room was tiny and not very clean, we never got the cooking plate we asked for, and the toilet wouldn’t flush. Maintenance came after 11 p.m. and tried to explain a lever at the back of the toilet. I didn’t come there to fix toilets. The front clerk stayed on her phone while I tried to talk to her, and no one apologized or followed up to solve anything. We won’t return.

The quiet location is a big plus. It’s close to everything in Temple without feeling right on top of it, and I can get around town easily. I come back to Home2Suites every time because the service is friendly and familiar, and the place is clean and peaceful. I don’t have to listen to highway traffic all night or worry that some surprise six-legged roommate will hitch a ride home with me. The bed situation is more “it’s complicated” than luxurious. The mattress isn’t winning any awards, but it gets the job done. Still five stars from me. See you next trip.

The shower didn’t have reliable hot water. The staff did everything they could to address it, but I think the company needs to put more money into renovating and updating old equipment. I also want to recognize the staff. The woman at the front desk on 12/25/2025 and 12/26/2025 was incredibly kind and helped us with every problem we had. The woman in the kitchen was wonderful and so caring. I hope the company values them and gives them holiday bonuses. They deserve it.

*1/8/26, update to my original review* I called Hilton Honors and spoke with a wonderful representative who handled my concerns quickly and courteously. That restored my faith in the Hilton brand. The hotel manager still hasn’t replied to any of my emails, and probably never will. I’d still warn people about staying here. *************** DO NOT STAY HERE. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, and everyone on staff except the manager was kind and helpful. But the hotel knows about the hot water problem and doesn’t tell guests, and the elevators probably won’t work either. Jennifer, the manager, was the worst hotel manager I’ve ever dealt with. She avoided being at the hotel and couldn’t be reached by phone or email. When we finally got hold of her, she had no customer service sense and wouldn’t honor the hotel’s 100% satisfaction guarantee, the one where the night’s stay is on them. She blamed us for staying longer while the hot water was out and said we should’ve picked another hotel. Next time I will, maybe at another chain. Jennifer, you also said you’d refund one night and give us “lots of Hilton Honors points.” You still haven’t done that.
