Red Roof Inn Temple

We stayed for a few weeks while my husband was on a job, and everyone was kind and accommodating. The room was spacious, the AC cold, and the water hot. I loved the pool, and I felt safe the whole time, even though it didn't look like a $400-a-night hotel. It's in a convenient spot near the hospital, VA, Walmart, HEB, Temple University, and various restaurants. As we left, the owners said they planned to redo the parking lot the following week and have roofers come later, so more improvements are coming.

I'm furious about how this hotel handled my refund. I checked in Wednesday night and left within about an hour because the shower was dirty and, more seriously, something was biting me in bed. I couldn't sleep because I was itching so badly. At the desk, the woman who checked me in said I had to wait until the manager arrived at 10am the next day to ask for a refund. A little after 10, I called and a man said a manager would contact me within 24 hours. That never happened. When I called again more than 24 hours later, they didn't answer at first. The same man eventually picked up and repeated that a manager would call. I asked for the corporate number, but he said he didn't know it and told me to Google it. I called the corporate office and explained what happened. The representative called the hotel, then came back and said I was basically lying: the employee claimed I'd stayed 3 to 4 hours, so I wasn't entitled to a refund. She gave me 48 hours to send my receipt with the checkout time, but I was working out of state, my receipt was in my car, and I was driving the company's vehicle on the road. I wouldn't be back for five days. I called my bank to check the card transaction time, which was 9:25pm. My receipt showed checkout at 10:33pm, a total stay of 1 hour and 8 minutes, not 3 to 4 hours as the employee told customer relations representative trixie. They kept my $67 dollars for no reason. This isn't even just about the money, it's the poor service and lack of respect. I'll never use this hotel again. They should be ashamed. They lied so they wouldn't have to refund me. Worst hotel I've ever been to. They should check the bed for bedbugs.

He was kind, professional, and genuinely helpful from the moment we checked in, making sure everything was taken care of and that we felt welcome throughout.
