Holiday Inn Express Toledo North by IHG

I slept better here than I have in years. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the rooms were clean and seemed recently renovated. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had loads of choices, from eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy to cereal, bagels, and cinnamon rolls. Everything about the stay was fabulous, and I’ll definitely return next time I’m passing through Toledo.

We were only here for one night, but we’d stay again and recommend it to people visiting Toledo. Our room was comfortable and very nice, with a well-maintained full bathroom, and the Wi-Fi worked without any trouble. Nobody was at reception when we arrived, so we had to find someone to check us in. After that, the staff were very helpful, including at checkout. There was complimentary breakfast, but we didn’t try it.

Luis and MiMi were kind and kept a great attitude throughout our stay. Luis helped us with everything that went wrong during check-in and with an issue in my room. The hotel’s full breakfast was really good, and the price is reasonable. We had a very nice stay and I recommend it.

I’ve stayed here twice, and both visits had problems with the room’s heating and air conditioning. At noon, my room was around 64 degrees even though the heat was set to 70. It took until 6 p.m. to warm up. I prefer air conditioning while I sleep, but the thermostat only offered heat, and that wasn’t working properly either. The night employee checked and found that neither the window unit nor the wall unit worked. They suggested asking the morning staff about a discount, but my company paid, so that wouldn’t help me. This is the worst maintained and run hotel in the IHG line, in my experience. I’d already seen other reviews describing similar room and temperature issues, along with the same canned manager response about hoping guests will try again. I won’t. My company has lost all its business at this location.
