Motel 6 Toledo, OH

The room smelled of cigarettes and dog, the beds and blankets were stained, and I found burn holes in the bedding. There was mold in the fridges. When I asked for a clean blanket, receptionist ben said they had none and couldn’t help. I wasn’t there even an hour before leaving for a cleaner hotel, but ben was rude when I asked for a refund. He wouldn’t connect me with a manager, refused the refund, threatened to call the police because I wanted customer service, raised his voice several times, and suggested I wanted money back because “i had no money.” The next day, manager Steve was also rude. He said ben had told him I stayed overnight, and denied the refund. I’d been there about 30 minutes. Steve refused to check the camera footage, called me a liar about the room, and wouldn’t let me speak with the owner. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. It was very unprofessional, and they don’t listen to customers.

Todd fixed my reservation right away when I called to confirm and found I hadn’t been assigned a ground-floor room. He’s the best and deserves a promotion and a raise. I stay at Motel 6 properties around the country, and this is one of the better ones. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the microwave and fridge both worked perfectly. My only room complaint was the weak shower head, which made showering take twice as long. It’s easy to find, but there aren’t gas stations, convenience stores, or food options nearby. Lots of people were hanging around drinking in the parking lot, with trash bags on the fence. There was a dog waste station with a trash can, which was a plus. Some residents were loud and hanging out, and I wish the motel chain would figure out that getting rid of them would be good for business. Otherwise, it was decently quiet and I had no problems. I’ll stay again.

Steve and David were friendly and professional, and helped me out from check-in onward. My room was clean, and anything I needed was handled quickly. It felt like a well-run stay and good value for the price. I’d come back to Motel 6 Toledo.

For a single night, this was just what we wanted for the price. The area felt pretty sketchy, and we worried someone might break into our car. The room was clean enough, though there were burn marks on the sheets, and the walls were so thin we could hear everything. Check-in went smoothly. Todd was great, thanks Todd. We came to America in October for a Hobbit Festival.
