Quality Inn Troutville - Roanoke North

The building is older and not perfect, but this place had what matters to us: cleanliness and great customer service. Every employee we dealt with was top notch, the room was clean, breakfast was ample, and the coffee was good. For the price, it’s excellent value. We had a very positive overnight stop while driving from Florida to New England and would definitely stay again.

The room had a few issues, but I’d stay here again. I slept well, the Wi-Fi worked well, and there was a nice seating area plus a small computer area for business. The morning staff member at the check-in counter was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was similar to Comfort Inn, with eggs, sausage, maybe biscuits and gravy, a couple of cereals, yogurt, waffles, coffee, decaf, and tea. I got there around 9:30 and didn’t see bagels, but there was packaged Danish and orange juice, which Comfort Inn in lexington didn’t have. The area is nice, close to where I stayed last year, next to a Cracker Barrel and less than four minutes from lots of restaurants. Check-in was easy, and the gentleman who checked me in was really nice. I arrived late after opting out of Econo lodge, where I’ll never stay again. I’ve had good experiences with Comfort Inn and quality inn. The room smelled odd, maybe musty, though I was tired enough that it didn’t bother me much. The toilet was hard to flush and the water took a long time to warm up. Though it was an accessible room with an accessible shower and rails, getting into the shower could be difficult for someone with mobility issues. It’s quite a step for someone transferring from a wheelchair or needing to raise their legs two to three feet, and they’d need to be careful getting out. There was very little shampoo and no conditioner, though there were plenty of towels. The TV was dated and small but worked fine. The microwave and refrigerator kept turning off and on when used at the same time because the outlets weren’t in great shape and were on a power strip. The clean bedspread had some burn marks and should probably be replaced. Bathroom lighting was dated too, more like shop lighting, and left the mirror shaded. A couple of lights on either side would help.

I stay here for work pretty often. The hotel feels dated, but the rooms are always clean, comfortable, and nice. Breakfast is good every time too.

The location is good and the booking agent was knowledgeable, but the room was filthy, outdated, and unsanitary. It was gross, and the sheets made me itchy. When I woke up, I had bites all over my body that looked like bed bug bites in internet photos. I was mortified. So bad. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you’re used to unsanitary living conditions.
