The young woman was the sweetest part of the visit. She was friendly and helpful, especially the next morning when we left. The check-in staff were friendly too, and gave our dog treats. But for a hotel that calls itself dog friendly, we couldn’t find any areas where we could take the dog. There was no bar, restaurant, or rooftop patio either, which was disappointing. We’d originally booked two nights, then changed the reservation to add a night before reaching our previous destination. We were glad we changed it because one night was enough. The rooms are small, and there was constant banging and talking in the corridor. The hotel was noisy all night, then in the morning there was no hot water, so we had to leave without showering before a long road trip. Parking is valet only, which is handy, but we didn’t know that. The male valet helped right away when we pulled up, but even when I asked for a minute to get sorted with our excited dog and all our bags, he hovered and wouldn’t leave us be. Every time we called reception from the room, nobody answered. They did call back, but it was a very blunt man. When I said it was okay because my partner had gone down to speak with them, he hung up straight away. Overall, we were so disappointed.

I spent a week here for work meetings, and the food set out for our breakfasts and dinners looked and tasted fantastic. The service at the front door and desk was fantastic and friendly, as were the waiters who set up the meeting meals. The Rooftop bar bartenders were great and very friendly too. Keep up the good work!

The other staff were amazing, but the valet worker was extremely lazy. He offered no help, led us into the parking area, and never mentioned the $75 DAILY parking charge. He sat on his phone practically the whole time. I don’t want to write a review aimed at staff, but that was disappointing.

The room was spotless, the gym was easy to find and had all the essentials, and breakfast was surprisingly good. The rooftop pool was beautiful too. Jajuan at the front desk was kind, helpful, and professional. Diego at the valet was on it, and kelsey was just as amazing. Essential was a sweetheart and really helpful. Amazing hotel, I’ll be back when I’m in Tuscon.

I want my refund for the room-rate overcharge, and I’m escalating this to the general manager. I’ll update this post as things develop. I’m not letting it go. I booked a five-night stay several months ahead and am a gold hilton honors member. I used benefits and points for three nights. For the last two, I was charged double the room rate because the hotel claimed my fiancé hadn’t shown government ID for the government rate. He showed it twice. He wasn’t with me at checkout because he was back on the base, and they said they had to charge the “rack” rate because there was no ID. My card was initially pre-authorized for $589 to cover those two nights, but then they said I owed $1,180 for not presenting ID, double the rate I’d been quoted. It seems to me they’re charging for all five nights to make back the points used. I think it’s a scam, and the staff were in on it: they asked for his ID, I sent him down to show them, then they asked again the next day and he showed them again. After that, they claimed they’d never seen it. I spoke with the hotel, and they were less than honest about the situation, saying I was the only person in the room and he’d never been there.
