We came back to the Campbell after many years and the hotel still has distinctive, lovely rooms with lots of character. But the care and service seem to have slipped. On arrival, the front desk woman didn't greet or acknowledge us, so we had to start the conversation, and she seemed distracted. In our room, six or seven lights were burned out, some replacements were cold white LEDs, the bathroom heat lamp didn't work, and the old windows were uninsulated and cold. One was cracked, letting cold air in. We also couldn't get WiFi in the room. When we asked, the desk said the system was made for a house and doesn't always reach. These are small things individually, but they add up. It feels like the property may have been handed to or sold to a management company without the original passion. The place still has a lot of charm, but it needs more attention, simple repairs and the care of invested owners.

The hotel's interior was the only thing I liked. At $140 or more a night, I expected a lot better. There was no noise privacy: large gaps under the doors let sounds from the common area travel into the rooms, and we could hear other guests. My partner and I didn't feel comfortable being romantic. Late at night we heard luggage, the elevator, talking and coughing, which made it much harder to sleep. The receptionist smiled, but was quick and dismissive, and didn't make us feel welcome. The shower was awkward too. For that price, I would've had a better stay at a cheaper hotel, maybe one around $70.

My husband and I loved staying here. It's the real Hotel, a restored 1926 place that hasn't been modernized, so expect 1926 decor rather than 2026. The woodwork, floors and molding are beautiful. Staff were friendly and informative, and we were impressed. If you want to see genuine details from 1926, I highly recommend this spot.

I left a bit disappointed after choosing this historic hotel for its ambience in the photos and paying extra for the experience. It was still kind of cool, but not enough to make me want to return. The room was comfortable and nicely appointed, though just okay and less impressive than I'd hoped. The retro bathroom looked nice, but water got everywhere when we showered, and there was visible water damage on the bedroom side of the wall. The key cards also kept failing at night. Breakfast was meager: a Keurig with lots of flavorings, but only Sara Lee muffins and no spreads. Sweetie Pies across the street was a decent breakfast option, and I wish management had arranged for them to cater. The bar also closed early every night. The hotel isn't central to anything in Tulsa, so I spent a small fortune on Ubers. I had high hopes for a historic hotel with Midwestern motifs, but the stay fell short.

The rooms at The Campbell Hotel are gorgeous and thoughtfully put together, and the historic setting is lovely. What really made my two-night stay special, though, was Gabriel. He handled several challenges with patience and grace, kept visitors informed about updates, and reassured people until a solution was found. Thanks to him and the Campbell Hotel for such a lovely stay.
