Quality Inn Tupelo Central

There were several good restaurants nearby for dinner, and we found the hot breakfast excellent. Our room was clean and very comfortable.

We didn't even want to shower there, and our 11-year-old girl was up before 6 AM. Everyone just wanted to leave. We rarely get out of a hotel or motel that early, but we were gone by 6:30. It was a rough place with a rough crowd. The beds were hard, the sheets stiff and itchy with burns in them, and the room was dingy and needed a very deep cleaning and proper remodeling. We chose it for a quick overnight based on the hotels.com ratings, but looking again, there were lots of recent one-star reviews that described its condition accurately. It was cheap, but not worth it. Twice late at night, and again just after 6 AM, the pungent smell of dope smoke hit us like a herd of skunks outside. We couldn't see anybody. We travel often and have had good luck with Quality Inns in other states. This was a short night of itchy, bad sleep and a quick exit. Never again.

The hotel is conveniently located, close to whatever you might want to do, and we were impressed by the breakfast and its food choices. The room was good, but there was hair in our bed and stains on the comforter.

Packages were left outside my unit, and when I asked for help, staff told me, “That’s not my job.” Breakfast was poor, with the cheapest yogurt I’ve ever seen. I booked a full month for work and was told the sheets would only be changed after checkout. Housekeeping barely happened: the bed wasn’t made daily, the tub was never cleaned, and I had to ask for towels and trash service. Some days I got one towel and none the next. The bathroom vent smelled strongly of marijuana every time I turned it on. Worst of all, there were cockroaches in the room. I tried another room and saw them there too. I’ve had decent stays at other Quality Inns, but this was by far the worst. I won’t stay at a Quality inn again.
