Kudos to Peter, who had nothing to do with my things being thrown out but went dumpster diving to try to find them anyway. He had no obligation to do that. He's an excellent guy, and whatever they pay him isn't enough. I feel bad for him and hope they treat him well. I've been furious ever since I came back around 11:00 pm after an early start at work and found most of my belongings gone. I'd been at the hotel for nearly two weeks and had extended and paid for my reservation again, as I had several times during the stay. Instead of checking that their records were correct, staff went into my room and threw out most of my clothes, phone chargers, special-order contacts, toiletries, and other things. They found a few items in the trash. If I hadn't paid to extend the room, this might feel a little different, but I had paid and they took my belongings anyway. I can't trust hotel staff to keep my things safe. Neither I nor any of my employees will ever stay there again. Absolutely blacklisted.

The location is good, though parking is limited by the size of the lot. The price seemed good before the stay, but not afterward. The single elevator was slow and seemed questionable, breakfast was below standard with some of the worst hotel food I've had, and the walls are paper thin. In the room, the baseboards were taped to the wall with duck-tape, and the shower curtain was too short, leaving water all over the bathroom floor. Staff didn't deal with rowdy guests running the halls at 2 am. It feels like teenagers run the place. Also, all the fire extinguisher cases on the 4th floor were empty. Might wanna check that. Thanks for the reply. Management did address the noise once at 10:30 PM, but the disturbances went on well into the morning. Asking people politely one time isn't enough when they keep making noise. In my experience, repeated disturbances lead to guests being removed. It seemed that wasn't an option here; staff just said please and did nothing when that was ignored. You need to raise your standards for breakfast, too.

The rooms were really clean, and yes, they allow pets. Mine is a Service animal, but regular pets are allowed too. The hotel is right off the University area, though it was a little hard to find. Thank goodness for GPS. Getting back on the freeway was fun, as in it isn't right off the freeway.

Housekeeping wasn't automatic. During my stay, I had to request that someone clean the room and bring fresh towels, which I've never had to do in more than a decade of staying in hotels. The dryer in my bathroom didn't work either. I asked the front desk to send someone while I was out, but nothing was fixed and my request was basically ignored. Breakfast could run until 11 a.m., especially since the only freshly served items are sausage links, biscuits, and gravy. If there were a big spread of fresh eggs, bacon, grits, oatmeal, and similar items, I could understand ending it earlier. I will say the pancake printing machine was really cool to watch, making pancakes in seconds. I appreciate that the staff honored my request for a higher floor and a room away from the elevator. My stay was three days and two nights, and for a $65 nightly rate I can't say I'm surprised by the service quality, but having to ask for basic cleaning and towels shouldn't be necessary. It could've been better. If I visit Tuscaloosa again, I'll stay somewhere else.
