I've stayed here three different nights over three weeks for specialist medical visits. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with everything I needed, and check-in is quick and easy. Since it's close to the hospital and convenient to check in, I chose Greyhound Inn again on my next two trips. My only concern was the lack of security and the fact that no hotel staff were available. On the first visit, the two of us women felt uneasy at first because we were the only guests in the whole hotel. We settled into our room and had no problems, though. When we had a question, someone replied by text within minutes.

The decor really stood out to me, with a cool restoration feel from the '70s and early '80s. There were glass brick walls and a bed shelf that reminded me of my parents' old wood-panel box TV. The rooms were clean, and the location feels very different from what you usually see in south Tyler. It's also close to trendy bars, restaurants, and two breweries. I stay at boutique hotels a lot, and this has been my favorite in the last few years.

I was alone in the whole building during my stay, and as a solo business traveler that felt unsettling. This is a zero-contact hotel with no staff onsite, and I couldn't find a single camera in the entrance, hallways, or parking lot. I ended up pushing all the furniture I could against my door so I could try to sleep. The decor, room size, and cleanliness are lovely, but the location and safety gave me real concern. For a hotel presented at this high-end level, I think they should invest in security for both the building and the guests.

The Art Deco look throughout the hotel gave the place a lot of character, and the room was clean and much more spacious than I expected. I had a really nice stay. The location was handy for everything I needed while still being quiet enough to feel restful. I also felt completely safe there. I'd recommend it if you're after somewhere stylish, comfortable, and convenient.
