The rooms are nice, and a window opens, though the water pressure could be better. The pool has been closed for years, apparently because the city wants the bottom and sides repaired. It’s an okay hotel in a great location, with lots of food nearby. It can get a little loud with construction workers staying there. They sometimes drink in the courtyard and leave their trash for housekeeping or maintenance. That’s disrespectful, so please clean up after yourselves. Aside from that, they don’t cause trouble or party all night. I’d stay again.

This was our fourth stay, and it’ll be our last. When we tried to leave for a doctor’s appointment, the room door wouldn’t open from the inside. We pulled, pushed, and jerked at it, but it stayed stuck. What if there had been a fire? The room phone had no dial tone. Another guest said none of the room phones had worked during the week he was there. The desk usually doesn’t answer, so I called BringFido dot com, where we’d booked. Their representative reached the desk, and the manager sent someone to open the door from outside. In hindsight, I should’ve called 911 so I could report the door and phone issue to the fire marshal. I could still call the non-emergency number, and I should’ve asked for compensation for the hassle. On our third stay, the beds were comfortable and the location suited our doctor visits. The bathroom door was hard to open and close, and maybe WD40 would help. After our long drive, we like to soak in the tub, but it was filthy, with mold and dirt around and under the mat. It really needs cleaning. Imagine bathing a child in that. Yuk!

I used to come here often without problems, and the staff had always been nice. On this two-night return, my husband felt something biting him within a few hours. We checked the bed and found a bed bug. The man at the front desk was understanding and moved us to a different room. We didn’t see more bugs there, but I’m sure that room had them too because more bumps appeared. After checkout today, my three-year-old was covered in red spots. The microwave in the new room also seemed broken or shorted, so we didn’t use it. I called the hotel afterward to ask for a refund. The woman who answered was curt, didn’t ask who I was, and cut me off while I explained what happened. She said she’d let me know in a minute, then the call disconnected. I called back several times and got no answer or return call. This is unacceptable, and I won’t be back.

It always feels like a home away from home here. The front desk staff are consistently happy and accommodating, the rooms are always clean, and housekeeping are friendly when they check if you need anything. I totally recommend staying here.

Housekeeping were excellent, really nice women who were friendly and helpful. Ms Kimberly was the standout employee. Kim makes you feel so appreciated, she’s the best. Hot coffee was available anytime, and breakfast was good, with fresh Belgian waffles you make yourself. I’d have liked eggs and biscuits as another choice, but it’s not a big issue. Sadly, the pool was closed even in 90-degree heat. I was there for a week, and the shower room felt stuffy because there was no fan. I got a DampRid to deal with the damp, moldy smell, and there was no way to open the window. Earplugs are a good idea, I had to use them because the loud construction crew drank beer outside in the parking lot. In my opinion, at $50 a night, it’s the best deal in the city.
