Econo Lodge Inn & Suites

The mattresses are old and extremely uncomfortable, sitting lower than the headboard. The heater was either blasting hot air or off, so even in winter the room was boiling all night. There were unidentified stains on the wall and ceiling, and the fire alarm hung from the ceiling. They renovated about a year ago, but the work seems either incomplete or poorly done to save money. The rooms aren’t the worst in the world, but it’s clear no real effort went into updating the hotel properly. It might do if you have no other choice.

BED BUGS ...BED BUGS...BED BUGS....We found this place through AAA and have alerted them to remove it from their list. We booked ahead and arrived early, before the function we were attending, to drop off our luggage. The owner couldn’t figure out how to check us in and just left. About ten minutes later, a nice lady came and managed to check us in. After the event, which ran late, we returned to the room. The lighting was poor, and it was hard to find electrical outlets that worked. We pulled back the sheets to get ready for bed and found BED BUGS!! It was so gross. My husband told the front desk. They apologized and asked if we wanted another room. He said no, he wanted our money back and we were leaving. They offered him alcohol spray and dryer sheets, saying those helped with bed bugs!! So I guess they knew and were prepared. We got refunded and drove two hours home in the middle of the night. NEVER stay here. I’ll always drive home if this is the only option. I didn’t want to give any stars, but it wouldn’t let me post without one.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. Some of the towels and other linens are worn in places, but for the price I was very happy and pleasantly surprised. I’d definitely stay here again.

The owners and their family or “staff” were less courteous than the bugs in the rooms. The beds were terrible, the heat was either full blast or off, and the staff were rude and unpleasant. They weren’t accommodating either. Breakfast was called “simple,” which apparently means dry cereal with no milk, bagels and butter, or rotten OJ. You’d be better off spending the money on gas and sleeping in your car with the heat on. Wish you could give zero stars. Stay away.
