Motel 6 Vacaville, CA

I won’t come back. Bugs everywhere, broken beds, and no help when I needed it. I’ve been coming here almost every weekend and they know me. The first time was lovely, in a renovated room in the 130s where everything was brand new. Since then, that room apparently is never available, and I only got it for that price because nothing else was open. The second visit was okay, at least there weren’t bed bugs. Another time upstairs, there was dog hair all over the bed under the sheets. They switched my room without a problem, so always check your sheets. At 3 am I saw a roach eating crumbs I’d dropped and texted and called the office, but got no answer. I thought maybe it was just one, then woke up panicking at 5 am with one crawling on my shoulder. The office said they couldn’t do anything because I’d already been there too long, though I still had 6 hours I could have slept. I can’t sleep with roaches crawling on me. I asked for a manager and was told to come in the morning. I bet that was so they could say I stayed the whole night. I had to throw out my whole pizza, which cost 40 dollars. They couldn’t even give me 30 back for breakfast, since I couldn’t eat dinner? Almost all the beds are broken and sink in the middle. There was a big black widow right next to my pillow, and pincher bugs in the bathroom. I took a shower and left, wasting my only day off when I could have slept in. There were roaches and spiders, pincher bugs and flying bugs, might as well have slept outside.

There was a huge hole in the room wall, and it looked like someone had also punched through the bathroom door before. The staff were mild mannered, though, and the smell from the Indian restaurant The Clay Oven was amazing.

I’ve been a Motel 6 customer for 50 years, but after this I’ll never stay with them again. I was 200 miles away when I made the reservation, then called to cancel once I was 100 miles out. The location told me to call corporate, and corporate said I had to cancel through the location. This confusion happened while I was on the freeway, and I got into an accident. I ended up canceling at 6:20pm, 20 minutes late. While trying to sort it out with the Pakistan person at corporate and the Pakistan person at the location, I had the accident and couldn’t make it there. Motel 6 took the money from my debit card. Zero stars for this experience. Their customer relations were bad, bad, bad.

There was no hot water. The washer hasn’t worked for the last 2 months, and the ice machine has been broken for over 2 weeks. A toilet took over 3 weeks to fix, and I had to go outside in the middle of the night to another room to use the bathroom. At one point, 4 rooms out of the 5/6 rooms had broken toilets. I strongly wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
