Carquinez Inn Vallejo I 80 Near Napa Valley

The oddest part of the stay was the bag lady on site who seemed to have appointed herself in charge of opening the security gate for guests. But the thing I remember most is the roaches. I stayed about a month ago and can't recall the last time I saw that many in a hotel room. I squashed three in the bathroom before they sent out an even bigger one to do battle. I named him Goliath.

The nearby road could be noisy at night, which was the one downside for me. Otherwise, the location worked well, near the Carquinez Strait and Mare Island Naval Shipyard, and the price felt very reasonable for what we got. I spent two nights at the Carquinez Inn and was pleasantly surprised by the room and service. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, flat-screen TV, private bathroom, balcony, and reliable wifi. The staff were friendly and helpful, and check-in and check-out were quick and easy. There’s also a garden and terrace where you can relax. I enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent, affordable place in Vallejo.

My 90-year-old mother-in-law stays here, and it's gross. The place is infested with cockroaches, there's no running water, and the service sucks.

I'm being honest, my stay from January 5 to January 6, 2026 was the worst time ever. It was cockroach-infested and really gross. They need to shut this place down.
