The new hotel was clean, with a very comfortable bed, and the staff were friendly. I often stay in the area, usually at Candlewood, but chose this place for the pool and gym. One night, I woke at 1:30am to three young girls talking loudly in the stairwell in swimsuits. I asked them to go to their room. One apologized, while another gave me attitude and said, “my mom owns this hotel.” I went down to the front desk in my pajamas, and the attendant kindly handled it. The owner’s daughter’s disregard was frustrating. After looking at reviews, I’m concerned this property is poorly managed.

We had a wonderful stay while visiting Multnomah Falls, Mountain Rainier, and Vancouver, Canada. The hotel was very clean and quiet, and our corner room was lovely with a great view. Diego and Marcia at the front desk were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely stay here again when we’re in town. We checked in late, so the photos were taken when we left.

We’re Diamond members and have stayed here several times a year for a few days at a time over the last three years. We’ve liked this hotel as an affordable option for our family in Vancouver, but we won’t return because of security, cleanliness, and service problems. Although the hotel was nearly empty, we were given a room right by the elevator. It looked clean, but after walking from the bed to the bathroom, my socks were black. The patchwork repairs looked like a three-year-old had squeezed toothpaste everywhere. Our party of four was in a two-queen room booked for five nights, yet there was only one roll of toilet paper, three towels, two washcloths, and nearly empty soap dispensers. The remote was sticky. Staff gave a curt apology when we raised these issues, with no room change or deeper cleaning offered. Breakfast is vile now. It used to be one of the best. Early in the morning when we checked out, we found a homeless man sleeping in the third-floor hallway and another inside the locked lobby foyer. Staff hadn’t noticed either until we pointed them out. We’d given the front desk payment instructions, but it took the attendant over 30 minutes to understand how to split the stay between work and personal travel, something that had never been an issue before. All this for $260 a night. I’m so disappointed, especially since decent affordable hotels in Vancouver are limited and this used to work well for our family.

There’s plenty of free parking, and breakfast comes with the stay. The rooms and facilities were nice, and the property felt new and very clean. It’s about 8 miles from Portland airport (PDX), a little farther out, but crossing the river gave us beautiful views. Some water for guests would have been a nice addition.
