Aquarius Hotel

We picked this hotel because it was close to The Dome, and thankfully barely spent any time in the room. Hair was all over the place, including in the supposedly clean towels and sinks, with big clumps on the bathroom floor. It was disgusting. Don’t book here.

The suite looked nice, and I booked it for the big soaking jacuzzi in the master bedroom, but the tub’s jets didn’t work and the water barely got warm. The sinks were no better: the one on the right of the vanity never got hot, and the one by the shower only reached warm. I didn’t even need to add cold water to adjust it. For what I paid in the off season, that was ridiculous. The room was freezing when I arrived, with no heat on. It’s 6:41 a.m. and it’s still cold, so I’ve been wearing my jacket indoors. There was a mold ring in the toilet, which made it seem like the room hadn’t been given a quick clean. I also ran my new wine glasses through the dishwasher, and it leaked all over the kitchen floor. I went down to talk to the front desk. Maintenance had left, and they said they might be able to offer a discount, but since I booked through booking.com, any refund would go to them. I needed the room I’d reserved to have working heat and a working jacuzzi, and I didn’t get that. My one-night getaway was ruined. You can take my money and laugh all the way to the bank, but a business can’t keep going if this is its best during the off season. When it’s freezing outside, rooms this size should be warmed up, unless the heaters don’t work either. It’s still chilly in here. Unacceptable. I’ll never return.

We had to scramble to find another place at the last minute. This one was nasty: crumbs and dirt on the floor, a cigarette smell, and dirty beds and counters. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We stayed here for Valentine's Day and booked a room with a whirlpool. It was right on the boardwalk near all the attractions, which was about the only good thing. After working all day, I spent 45 minutes scrubbing food and soda off the floor on my hands and knees. The towels and sheets had brown stains, the tub jets didn’t work, and the water didn’t heat properly until the next morning. We were on the 8th floor, where Wi-Fi didn’t reach, so the cable didn’t work either. At checkout, the woman said she’d tell the manager. I called several times that week, but he wasn’t in and never returned my calls. I know it’s a cheaper hotel, but that shouldn’t mean dirty sheets and towels, a dirty room, no hot water, and a broken tub, along with no TV or internet. I’d spend a little more next time and expect better as a guest.
