The garden was full of amazing flowers, and the bed was comfortable. Each morning my hostess brought out fresh milk and orange juice, fruit, and homemade bread. I stayed in the little cottage and slept just fine so close to Volcano National Park. I enjoyed it so much that I wished I could live there.

Garret and Sandy gave excellent advice and connected us with local guides and services. The cottages are also very handy for Volcano National Park and other attractions on that side of the island. Breakfast was fresh and dependable, though if you stay more than a couple of days, you may want a bit more variety. They’re wonderful hosts.

The separate cottages sit among tropical gardens, with places to sit outside. We had breakfast, a jacuzzi, and Wi-Fi in an office space. Our cottage was comfortable and felt like home. Garrett and Sandy were friendly and helpful, with suggestions for things to do all over the Big Island.

Even with Volcano National Park closed because of the eruptions, there’s still plenty to see on the island. Garret had lots of useful information about what to do and where to eat. Sandy’s homemade sweet bread at breakfast was marvelous, and the garden had so many flowers. We even had our own chameleon 😁. We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Volcano Country Cottage.

We came back from our nightly visits to the caldera to breakfast with Sandy’s cake, and Garrett helped us plan each day. Four nights here made for a peaceful change from resort hotels. We’d highly recommend it.
