The grounds are lovely, the lobby is clean and easy to navigate, and parking was simple with plenty of open spaces all day. We were upgraded to a corner suite, and its huge balcony had recliners with the thickest cushions I’ve ever seen. The room itself, though, felt pretty ordinary and lacked that Hawaii character. It could’ve been a Courtyard anywhere in the States, and was just clean enough. We also had to wait past the expected time to get in, though they waived our parking fee, which I appreciated. For such a high price, I expected a nicer room. I really wanted to love this place.

Our evening walks to the Wailea path to watch the sunset were a favorite, and we loved being close to other restaurants too. The room was always clean and looked out over the ocean. Since we were there at the height of whale season, we could see spouts and breaches from the balcony. That was life changing for us. We came for our honeymoon in February 2026, and the stay went beyond what we expected. The food and drinks were among our favorites in Maui. The staff were so helpful and kind, especially the bartender who’d ask what we’d done each day and offer wonderful suggestions. Mahalo to the staff for making us feel so welcome. It meant everything. I’ve already been pestering my husband to come back, and I’d absolutely recommend staying here.

I checked into Room 213 after 11 PM on a business trip and found it hadn’t been cleaned. The toilet was unflushed, and bath towels, hand towels, and mats were heaped on the sofa. The sheets were so wrinkled that I seriously questioned whether they were changed daily. Exhausted, I had to move rooms. The next morning at 7:45, I requested dry cleaning. My clothes were missing for 36 hours, then came back unwashed just before checkout. They had taken the tip I left with the laundry bag, even though the service hadn’t been done. I wound up doing laundry myself at 1 AM. This cost over $3,000 for three nights, and the basic failures made the trip mentally draining when I had very little time to sleep. Staff gave weak excuses about Valentine’s Day, with no accountability. Has anyone else had similar problems? This service is nowhere near what I’d expect at this price.

At the end of my trip I had a good time at the Maui Ocean Center, where the tickets were included in the resort fee. I got to see marine animals and fish I’d missed on my snorkeling trips. The room was clean and spacious, and the front desk treated me better than Westin and Sheraton resort. I checked in after snorkeling, but the room wasn’t ready. That was fine since I planned to use the jacuzzi first. To make up for the wait, the staff member waived my parking charge and upgraded me to a room with a better view. She made sure I had slippers and towels for the jacuzzi, and even gave me a first aid band when I noticed a cut on my finger. Westin Maui didn’t even have toothpaste in stock.

We had a good family vacation over winter break with my family and in-laws. The rooms were a good size, and the short walk, about 15 minutes, to the Wailea village center by the grand Wailea made it easy to browse shops and pick up small takeaway foods at the two little markets. It’s a good deal for the nightly price, though getting to the beach takes at least a 15-25 minute walk. There are two nearby town centers with restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, and markets, plus golf courses close by. Breakfast was a small, good-quality buffet, with hot options like croissant sandwiches and avocado toast included. There’s also a handy little store for medicine, drinks, snacks, and treats. The pool and jacuzzi are small but nice, with a poolside bar and restaurant. Staff were great, the gym was nice, and the fairly new facility was in good condition. Self-parking is available, but costs $40 a night. The king bed in the room I shared with my elderly mom had dips in it, so it wasn’t the most comfortable. The hotel isn’t close to the beach, but it was an easy short walk to the village.
