All I wanted was a safe night's sleep with my two small children, and that didn't happen. Kids were running, stomping, banging, yelling, and screaming through the halls until almost 2 in the morning. I have video from my room with the noise on it. When I complained, the front desk woman said there were no children running around, and the manager dismissed it too. I wouldn't let my own kids behave like that in public, let alone where other guests were trying to sleep. I've never stayed somewhere where management so plainly brushed this off. Don't stay here if you need to feel safe, comfortable, or at peace, especially with small children or if you're a woman. This place is a dump, and the two-star rating makes sense. Read the reviews.

The location near I-95 was handy and the price seemed fair, but I won't stay here again because I don't trust them. After I checked out, a $35 charge appeared on my card for a supposedly missing pillow. The front desk said the room should have had five and housekeeping found only four, but Tanya investigated and located the extra pillow in the wrong room. She told me only the manager could issue the refund and that the manager, who was supposedly calling in daily, was out of the country and would handle it. Nothing happened. I eventually disputed the charge with my credit card company, which ruled in my favor. Since the pillow had been misplaced on their end, I think the manager should have taken responsibility. I travel I-95 between my homes in FL and NY often. Tanya deserves credit for investigating, but the manager shouldn't have tried to keep my money. I booked the Walterboro Sleep Inn on Nov 5th after the Comfort Inn reservation center recommended it.

A roach was crawling on the door as soon as I arrived and checked in. The attendant was very nice and tried to help, but manager Lisa Patel wanted a photo of the roach before refunding my money. Who's going to risk it falling onto their luggage just to take a picture?

The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was good with some variety. The lobby and room furniture could use fresher pieces to make the place more appealing.

The staff were kind and welcoming, with real southern hospitality, and they clearly took pride in keeping the rooms and amenities clean. We chose this location after having problems at another Sleep Inn, and were pleasantly surprised by how spotless it was. It's also very conveniently placed near lots of restaurants and shops. The outdoor pool was open, and we saw people using it. Room availability was excellent, and the complimentary breakfast had a big spread: cereal, waffles, baked goods, sausage, eggs, yogurt, and more. Two things bothered us: housekeeping came by 30 minutes before checkout, and the receptionist took a personal call while we waited for our ride after checking out. Still, I'd recommend this place to travelers.
