A Victory Suites Warren

The lobby was the only nice part of the building. The room, mattress, and air unit all smelled of cigarettes and mildew, and my pillow and clothes came home smelling like smoke from the bed. Wallpaper was peeling, there was a mystery hole in the floor that might have been a cigarette burn, and the sheets had burn holes too. The hot tub was filthy, held together with duct tape, and falling apart. Not the getaway we wanted. Looks like the money goes toward fixing up the lobby. See pictures.

For a day in Detroit, this room worked out better than plenty of HOTELS I've stayed in. Great price, and I'd recommend it.

At 3 in the morning, we could hear people doing grown-up things and banging on the walls. Our room wasn't the one we were supposed to get with a jet tub, either. The ceiling had stains that looked like water damage all over, and there were holes in the walls. Small pillows, uncomfortable bed.

We found roaches, and my son slipped on the driveway because the owner won't buy salt. The advertised indoor pool didn't work during the three weeks he HAD TO STAY there while our rental house was being renovated. In the second room we were moved to, the shower water didn't work. Wallpaper was coming off, with mold and molding peeling from the walls too. Jennifer, the manager, argues and screams with at least one person every night. The night desk clerk was drunk and in my face, telling me to make amends with the manager. The whole place, from owner to employees, is a mess. My family lived there for three months years ago, when it was a beautiful hotel. Now the clerks smoke breeze at the desk while talking to you, even though it's supposed to be no smoking. They also break into rooms and steal from guests. It's a shame.
