Elmwood 1820 Bed & Breakfast Inn

We loved our stay at Elmwood 1820 Bed & Breakfast Inn in Washington, NC. The grounds were charming and peaceful, with flowers, fountains, and lots of thoughtful touches. Lemon the cat was a bonus and always seemed ready for a photo. We stayed in the Romantic Room, with its king bed and sun porch sitting area. It was spacious and comfortable, and every room has its own theme, so you can't go wrong with any of them. Breakfast was outstanding, and you could tell how much thought went into each dish. We liked having the choice to eat on the porch, in our room, or in the dining room. The location made it easy to walk to downtown shops, restaurants, and the waterfront instead of driving everywhere. I'd highly recommend Elmwood 1820 for a romantic getaway or a unique stay in eastern North Carolina. We'd definitely return.

Breakfast was a highlight at Elmwood 1820 Bed & Breakfast Inn. The host was a great cook and clearly took pride in the table setting and presentation. Everything tasted delicious, especially the homemade jam with buttermilk biscuits. We could choose to eat on the porch, in our room, or in the dining room. The grounds had lovely flowers and fountains, with peaceful spots to sit and relax, and the location was close enough to walk to downtown shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. We stayed in the comfortable, spacious Romantic Room, with a king bed and sun porch sitting area. Lemon the cat was another sweet touch and always seemed ready for a photo. It was a charming, relaxing place in Washington, and we truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

Everyone was so gracious and warm, and the breakfasts were the best ever. My husband and I had the nicest two nights at The Elmwood. Our bedroom was spacious, beautifully decorated, and extremely comfortable. Robert clearly enjoys what he does. Can't wait to come back!

We booked the venue and rooms for a small family wedding, and everything was perfection. Richard was welcoming, organized, and detail-oriented when we first toured. He and his staff were friendly and professional from the days before the event through the wedding itself, and they went beyond what was expected. Calling it a special day in my family's life almost doesn't do it justice. I'd recommend them a hundred times over.
