Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University

The hotel and rooms were very clean, and the location is excellent. There's a shuttle to Union Station, which sounds handy, but it's unreliable. It never arrived for the scheduled Saturday pickup, so I had to scramble to find another way to the Metro. Don't count on it if you're short on time.

We were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable and efficient the place was, especially for a lower price than other spots in DC. It was very clean, and the Capitol is walkable if you don't mind a 30-minute stroll. We also loved learning about Gallaudet university's mission and history.

The room was really nice and clean, with a massage chair, small refrigerator, TV, wand shower, shower chair, and a comfortable bed. It's close to a lot of DC attractions, and they have a wheelchair available if someone needs one. Breakfast isn't included. The bistro charges $20 for a basic meal with eggs, turkey bacon, potatoes, plus a few bread and fruit choices. They had real bacon on Saturday. Good stay, and I'd come back.

We stayed three nights and would easily return. It was a great deal compared with other hotels nearby, and the quality was good. Mariam was the person we dealt with most, and she answered all our questions patiently and kindly. She also told us about the free shuttle to Union Market that runs for most of the day. Our fifth-floor room was peaceful, and the area within Gaudet University felt safe, tucked into downtown. They make incredible muffins for about $4, offer free fruit, and keep a free fruit water pitcher filled with things like plums, lemon, strawberries, or cucumbers. The mix changes daily.
