Best Western Plus Port of Camas - Washougal Convention Center

After years of staying here, with the desk staff greeting us by name and being so friendly, this morning's treatment was a shock. The woman who used to work in the breakfast area was wonderful, and we'd always loved her. Last night I checked in and caught up with the staff since I hadn't been in town for two months. This morning, the “Manager” told us to “get rid of the kids or leave” because my two grandchildren were visiting as they had before without any problems. They're 5 and 3, and weren't causing trouble or eating breakfast. The new woman in the breakfast area was spraying so much bleach that one of them threw up. I've been a Diamond select member for over 10 years and stay at Best Westerns more than 50 times a year. The “Manager” called the police and had my sister, me, and four children, ages 6, 6, 5, and 3, escorted off the property. He also said he'd get me banned from the whole Best Western Chain. Because of what he did, I'm looking for a new company to give our business to. I'd tell anyone considering this place to stay somewhere else. You'll regret it.

The morning breakfast was warm and tasty, and the staff were so friendly throughout our visit. My husband, our dog, and I stayed one night in a roomy ground-floor room, which made it easy to take our pup outside. We were close to the pool and hot tub, and both were great. There's even a sauna. We all had a great stay.

The service was really good, and the place was very clean. The facilities do need upkeep, though: the curtains are worn, the shower takes a long time to warm up, and the lighting is poor. It does look like renovations have started.

We got a room after attending a wedding at Black pearl so we wouldn't have to drive too late. The desk staff were cool, but security was awful. He kicked out family who were clearly just enjoying the wedding, and it was before 10:30 pm. Then he cussed at me and locked my veteran spouse out of the hotel because we were “associated” with another room. The power trip was too much. You have to tiptoe and whisper from 10 pm to 9 am, so this place feels like it's for elderly people. The elevator takes four minutes, so be ready to walk. I've stayed at Best Western for sports, and this was by far the worst. I'll never stay at this location again.
