Super 8 Waterloo

The owners are friendly and accommodating, and each time we return we can see how hard they’ve worked on improvements. The hotel isn’t new, but it’s comfortable and was clean, including our room. We’ve stayed here over the years when visiting Waterloo. It’s in a great spot near both the highway and downtown, and we’ll definitely keep coming back.

We were here for my father’s funeral, and this was the only place to stay close to the town we needed to visit. The rooms felt dated and weren’t clean. Breakfast was limited, too. My wife and I left very disappointed.

The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was just okay, but for the price this was a nice place to stay. I’d come back if I were in the area again.

I was exhausted after being up for 72 hours and just wanted to sleep. They first gave me a key for a king room that hadn’t been cleaned. After some mix-up, they offered a queen, but that wasn’t workable either. I said I could wait, but was told it would be another two hours. When I asked for a refund, they offered a suite instead. It was 93 degrees when I arrived, and the fridge was set so high it wouldn’t run. I didn’t have the energy to keep fighting about it. I should’ve stuck with my original plan to sleep in the car at a rest stop. Looks like I’ll end up there anyway, with my cooler in the back. Wooooot.
