Comfort Suites Foxfire

I was there for my brother's funeral and had an extremely busy schedule, so we decided not to change rooms. We've stayed here twice this past year, and I'm sad this seems to be the “best” hotel Waupaca has to offer. The room was damp and musty when we arrived, and there was black mold across all three shower wall ceilings. Other reviews have mentioned it. If the hotel knows about this serious health hazard, it needs to be dealt with right away. We also chose not to have it cleaned because the spores could get into the air. The breakfast chairs were old and peeling, and the property badly needs renovation. I won't stay again.

We stayed because it was close to a family event. At check-in, we were met with a gruff “Why are you here?” The room was spacious and clean, but at $294 a night it smelled dank and musty, and there was mold in the bathroom.

My niece's wedding here was nice, but be careful about room charges if you're booking for a wedding. One person in our group was told there was no room block, while I was told there was one but that I'd reserved too late. The event planner was let go in the middle of planning, and the arrangements fell through. A new event coordinator appeared three weeks before the wedding, but we still weren't given any information about booking rooms. In the end, we all got hosed, and they said adjusting the rates for so many rooms was too much for them. If you're planning a wedding here, make sure you have all the details firmly arranged or they may take advantage of you.

We paid $32.00 for 30 minutes at the pool for two adults and two kids. The chlorine was so strong that we all got sick and threw up. It was a waste of money, and the clerk didn't apologize or offer a refund.
