Rodeway Inn

We were told ahead of time that some amenities would be missing and that we’d get a discount, which we were okay with. But when we arrived, the manager said he had canceled everyone else’s reservation except ours. That made us worry about safety. He said we should be thankful he hadn’t canceled us and that he was making an exception “even though he doesn’t even know us.” The manager seemed very sketchy and made an already unsafe-feeling hotel feel worse. After we canceled, he hurried us out of the lobby so he could go out with his friends. Getting checked in was uncomfortable from the start. We had to wait to be let into the hotel, then a woman told us to sit in the lobby until someone could help. After 20 minutes, I rang the service bell on the desk, thinking they’d forgotten us. A man came out, lectured me, said he was offended that I rang it, and was rude enough to make me feel extremely uncomfortable. It’s a cheap hotel, but it isn’t worth the price. Go somewhere else.

The only part of the room that had been remodeled was the bathroom. It’s an old hotel with no amenities, and there wasn’t even an iron in the room. There’s no air conditioning or heater either. Parking is unavailable. They also lock you inside: if you leave, you have to return by 2 a.m. or you can’t get back in. Nobody works the front desk.

Rodeway Hotel wasn’t open. They were accepting reservations for October 1, 2022, or later. Call the listed number before making the trip to check that the hotel is open.

The room was clean, nice, and seemed new. It wasn’t the best hotel, but it was worth the money. We’d had trouble finding a place in our price range.
