The room itself was fine for a two-star hotel in a small town, but I got only about three hours of sleep on Dec. 27. Around 2:30am, people upstairs on the second floor started partying, stomping around and yelling. After about 45 minutes I went down to ask someone to quiet them, but the lobby was locked and the desk unattended. A sign said to ring for service after midnight. I rang, waited, rang again, waited another two minutes in the freezing cold, then rang once more. Nobody was working the desk. The hotel's main number went unanswered too. The website says the front desk is open 24 hours, but that wasn’t true. I had to listen to the noise until they finally settled down around 5:30am. Those three hours of sleep made my six-hour drive in the morning wonderful. /s I complained to Wyndham corporate and was told the property manager would contact me within a week. They never did. If there’s no one in the lobby after midnight, what happens to someone arriving late? They can’t get a key. Check-in took 15 minutes because the computer was supposedly down. It turned out to be unplugged, which I found for the front desk worker after offering to help. The room was fine, just don’t expect any service after hours.
It’s an older Days Inns, so the rooms were as expected, but they were very clean and the price was great. The location worked well for us, and the owner at the front desk was fantastic, friendly, and accommodating.
The room was dated but clean when I arrived. During my multi-day stay, the refrigerator stopped working, and its replacement failed too. Housekeeping never came, so I got no fresh towels or coffee. I went to the front desk for towels as I’d been told to, but they refused and said I had to wait for housekeeping. With the repeated maintenance problems and no basic guest service, I left early. Expedia tried to reach the property and couldn’t get through, and management declined to resolve things. Avoid this one if you can.
I had a very positive three-day stay. The manager and owner were friendly and helpful, and my recently renovated room looked great. The only issue was weather stripping on the door that needed replacing, but the mild weather meant it wasn’t a problem. It’s right on the main street downtown, with convenience stores and restaurants an easy walk away. Parking can get tight when the place is full, but I always found a spot. It can be a little loud because some long-term guests use the balconies like front porches and socialize where nearby rooms can hear them. It usually doesn’t last long, and management will shut it down if it bothers you. I found the place clean, friendly, and, most of all, affordable. You may not find it in the Michelin Guide, but keep in mind what you paid before complaining about small details. I think the mixed reviews come from the guest population. Many people stay long term and treat the property like home. When the owner asks one to leave for not paying or breaking rules, they may retaliate with bad reviews. The photos of dirty rooms look that way because those rooms have been occupied long term, and the dirt belongs to the guest.
I’m a nurse and stayed here through the snow storm. The room was clean and comfortable, and we got excellent service from the front desk and housekeepers. Thanks for taking good care of us. I’ll probably stay again for the snow storm this coming weekend.
