Hurricane Inn

I got in late after a long trip and was hoping to relax in the spa. The room was large and clean, but after I set up the spa and ran only hot water for about 10 minutes, there was no hot water at all, just cool water. Such a disappointment. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

We were traveling by motorcycle and could park right outside our door. The lot has good lighting and solid pavement, and it's hard to see from the main road, so our bikes felt safer and less like a target than at many hotels we've used. The person up front, maybe the owner, was very friendly, and you can tell they care about the business, even if this might be the only hotel in town. For a cheap independent motel, this was one of the best I've stayed in. The beds were super comfy, with soft sheets and lots of pillows, and the bathroom was clean with a nice set of little toiletries. The rooms have wooden slat blinds instead of the usual motel curtains, plus a chair and ashtray outside each one for smokers, even though the whole hotel is non-smoking. The AC got nice and cold, almost too cold on the highest setting, which never happens to me. I'd happily return and highly recommend it.

The family running the place greeted us when we pulled into the tidy, clean parking lot. They were so kind and made us feel at home. The room is basic, but the bed was the softest we'd slept in during a week on the road, even compared with top name-brand hotels. We had two tables and three chairs, plus a chair outside the room, and big windows where we could watch beautiful sunsets. The A/C units were brand new. It's an older hotel, but the family clearly takes pride in it. Breakfast was simple, with breakfast bars, cereal, toast, a waffle machine, and fresh coffee. There's also a covered area at the end of the hotel with lots of chairs, tables, and barbecue pits. It felt like home away from home. I don't know if we'll pass this way again, but if we do, we'll absolutely stay here. We loved the place. Thank you so much. 💖💖

Keep your phone charged, because you may need something else to do. The TV wouldn't stay on, with the satellite signal dropping every five minutes or less.
