Days Inn by Wyndham Waynesville NC

I wouldn't recommend this Days Inn by Wyndham in Waynesville. There were roaches in our room, the shower was filthy, and the toilet was loose, which felt like a safety and sanitation issue. The bathroom door wouldn't close, so there was no privacy, and the broken mattress made sleeping extremely uncomfortable. A very disappointing stay, far below what a hotel should offer.

I stayed two nights and never once got maid service, even after calling to ask. They said they were short staffed, and I was left thinking they were cutting staff for the off season. At $225 a night, I should have been told before check-in. There wasn't even anyone at the front desk when I arrived, and I was sent to check in at the Pro Shop. The rooms also felt sparse, designed for easy maintenance and cleaning. I asked for the manager to call, but never heard back.

The location is the only thing this hotel has going for it. Our first room was full of fleas. Staff insisted that couldn't be true because no dog had been in there, even while my boyfriend was swatting hundreds off his pants in the lobby. I had to spell out that we wouldn't sleep in that room before the employee grudgingly said she'd look for another. They made switching to a room without fleas feel like a huge inconvenience. I would've gone elsewhere if I'd found a place on short notice. The second room was pretty grungy and the TV didn't work. Never staying here again.

The shower head barely worked and the toilet seat was broken. When we asked for extra towels, we were told they had none, and they never brought any. The front desk person was completely unprofessional and said we were banned and should never come back. This hotel was way overpriced. I'll find a cabin next time, because I'm not staying here again.
