We stayed here for the location and would come back. It’s affordable, quiet, clean, and seemed safe. There are restaurants nearby, and it’s convenient for Johnson Space Center. We also drove about a mile to Dr Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center for a peaceful evening walk, which felt surprisingly far from the city despite being right in it. The room was clean, with tile in the bathroom and wood floors in the main area. Beds were comfortable, though the pillows were too hard, so bring your own. Parking is right outside the room. First-floor rooms cost an extra $10 per night; otherwise, you’ll need to use the stairs to reach the upstairs rooms. A few things were disappointing. The website says there’s a pool, but it has been filled with dirt. The front desk staff member suggested the pool at the neighboring hotel, but didn’t know whether guests could use it. We paid for three people but had just two towels, so we had to ask for another. Shampoo was provided, but no conditioner. Breakfast was near the lobby, with hot coffee and powdered creamer. It wasn’t freshly cooked. There was a touch-free pancake machine, with high fructose corn syrup for the pancakes, plus heavily processed items like individually wrapped microwavable pigs in a blanket. Even the small yogurt cups had a long ingredient list with preservatives. The website photo showed a warm terracotta exterior with Mexican-style stucco arches and a flowering Pride of Barbados by the entrance. The building has since been painted a rather somber grey, and the little plant looks past its best.

The location made it easy to get around, and the rooms were very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially KD and Melodie. Breakfast was the weak spot: just a few oatmeal packets and some yogurt, with no sugar-free choices for diabetics. There’s an IHOP across the highway if you need another option.

For a reasonable price, this was a decent stay and everything else was good. Room service was slow, though. We had to ask for toiletries, the coffee machine wasn’t working, and supplies weren’t replenished on the second day.

A solid budget motel, in very good shape inside and out. The room looked recently renovated, or at least well maintained to that standard. It’s a fairly small property in a good location, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
