Fairfield Inn Rochester East

The room was well looked after and the place seemed clean. If you’re visiting from out of town, there are plenty of food options right nearby, and it’s easy to get on and off the main highways. We came for a pool staycation, especially because I’d called first to make sure the hot tub was working. We checked in right at 4 and hurried to change, but the pool area was freezing, with no heat on despite it being in the 30s outside. The hot tub was cold too, even with the jets running, and the pool itself was warmer. I told the front desk, and she did her best to help, saying maintenance had just left and she was working on it. I appreciated her effort, but when I checked again a few hours later, it was still cold. I was disappointed that the person who answered my call had been completely sure everything was working, since the hot tub was the main reason we came.

The pool was very nice, but the room was tiny and hard to use. The shower door opens into the room, leaving the bathroom flooded and slippery. There’s no bathroom shelving or cupboards, and the low dresser drawers are small. It might be fine for one person staying one night, but there isn’t enough room for someone using a walker or wheelchair. The accessible parking is also too far from the entrance.

Marriam was so helpful and did what she could to accommodate us. She also checked in about my flat tire. The breakfast lady was wonderful too, and treated us like family. Such a great experience.

The complimentary breakfast was good, and the woman running it was a sweetheart. The rest was just okay, especially for the price. My non-smoking room smelled like cigarette smoke, there was no AC, and I had to sleep with the window open. The pillows were terrible. I was first told EV charging was free, then learned it cost .53¢ a kWh. That’s outrageous for a level 2 charger. 300 kWh chargers are about 50¢ per kWh.
