The wedding reception for my cousin was held at The Galley Hotel Bar & Grill in Webster, South Dakota. I photographed the wedding and appreciated how accommodating and professional the staff were beforehand. They met with me and let me walk through the space so I could check the layout and lighting, which made a real difference for my photography. The venue handled 200-300 guests comfortably, with extra seating upstairs, and the sound system worked well all night. They decorated that morning, and the room felt welcoming and ready for a party. The dance floor, bar service, and movement through the space all worked well. The food was excellent, and clearly prepared with care. My only complaint is that I wish the buffet had stayed open longer so I could have gone back for seconds or thirds. The bartenders and attentive staff made it a strong venue for a reception or other large gathering in Webster, SD.

The hotel’s a little dated, but that didn’t bother my sister or me, and we had everything we needed. Bring your own hair dryer if you need one. The location is great on the main highway, and having a bar and restaurant attached is a nice bonus. The food, drinks, and service were great.

I stayed here for one night two weeks ago and got in really late with no other plan. Mik, the woman working at the bar, was so kind and helped me get a cheaper rate. She also made amazing food. If I’m back in the area, I’ll definitely ask for Mik again. Hope I got her name right. The other services were good too.

I was driving from Omaha toward Fargo for work when I slid off the highway in the snow and got stranded. A sheriff escorted me to The Galley, where the women working got me checked into one of the two rooms they had available. It was 11:00 pm, and I’m really grateful they helped me out at the last minute.

It’s an OK place to stop if you’re in town to fish. But if you need to stay connected, they don’t seem willing to help. They tell you to sit in their tiny lobby after a full day of work. I don’t know who owns the place, but the employees aren’t passing along customers’ concerns.
