Western Ridge Motel

My room was clean, the rates were good, and the staff were friendly. The pet fee was only 15, and I didn’t see any bugs. I had two bedrooms with a shared closet and bathroom between them. It looked a bit eh, and there was no microwave or coffee maker, though I didn’t mind. For comparison, the last Hilton garden inn I stayed at cost 120, plus a 50 pet fee. The room was freezing, the carpet was damp, the climate control was broken, and the walls were paper thin. The Keurig didn’t make up for that.

It was extremely hot because the AC didn’t work, and there were no lights in the lamps. A creature was living in the uncovered bathroom air vent. The place felt hazardous and not safe for children. I asked for a refund and was refused despite clear evidence, and the guy at the front laughed at me. There were cats everywhere, with cat feces and pee on the stairs and walkway into the hotel. In room number 251, on the top floor, I almost fell through the floor in a corner. The carpets were ripped inside and outside, windows were cracked and wouldn’t lock, and light and wall covers were missing. I called OSHA, and they have an emergency order to inspect the place and decide whether it needs a fine or to be shut down. He messed with the wrong one today, that’s for sure.

We’d just parked and gotten out to find the front office when someone staying there came out in a bathrobe. They yelled and pointed what looked like a gun at my 77 YO mother and me. We were going to stay there, but after that, no way. Super classy.

I didn’t stay the night. The room was so disgusting that I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It was dirty from ceiling to floor, including the walls, and smelled bad. There were no garbage cans, and the dresser and nightstand were filthy, not somewhere I’d put my clothes. The carpet was badly stained, and someone had left an empty beer can. The telephone was dirty and missing part of its cover. Minus 5 is the rating I’d give it.
