Dude & Roundup

This is an older motel without fancy extras, but it was spotless. We stayed seven nights, and the cleaning team came to service our room every single day. I haven’t had service that good at any motel since before Covid, Hilton included. They deserve commendations and a raise. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Dining, shopping, and groceries were right across the way or a short distance down the street, with even more options within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay, and the staff were very friendly. A problem with the DirectTV connection was fixed promptly. The heat and AC, microwave, and fridge all worked well, and parking was easy. One issue in Rm 205: the door bottom-threshold sweep needs replacing to close a 1 in gap. I used a rolled bath mat towel to fill it for the night. I’d definitely stay again. Thanks!

The Dude and Roundup Motel in West Yellowstone was an unpleasant place to stay, and I wouldn’t recommend it. We had booked a month ahead and were stuck there for three miserable nights. The only good thing was the hot water in the shower. The rest meant poor hygiene, pathetic service, and no comfort. The room was dirty, with suspicious carpet stains that looked like coffee or possibly blood. There were no amenities at all: no fridge, microwave, iron, or ironing board. The bathroom was tiny and poorly maintained, with loose vinyl flooring nailed down at the corners and wobbling elsewhere. Its door wouldn’t close properly because the knob and latch were misaligned, so I had to brace it with my luggage to get privacy while showering. There was a two-inch gap under the main room door, and bugs and critters came in at night attracted by the light. The wifi was nearly useless, one bar at best, with frequent disconnects that meant reconnecting again and again. Streaming or getting work done was out of the question. Talking to the front desk was frustrating too, as the lady there spoke almost no English and even simple requests became a chore. I’d never stay here again. Sleeping in my car might have been better.

The room was very basic, just a bed, no dresser, and a table with two stained chairs. The TV wouldn’t work, and I found the TV and Directv box weren’t even plugged in. An extension cord ran from the light switch by the door. I walked in and asked for a room at $192 a night, then requested a second night before seeing the room. I signed nothing except the receipt. An emergency came up overnight, and I had to leave the next morning after one night. I explained what happened, but they still billed me for two nights and didn’t care. Do not stay here!
