I want to explain why I’m leaving such a poor review. I was on vacation, alternating dispersed camping with hotel stays. Using the “USFS & BLM CG” app, I drove to a dispersed camping site and found a no overnight camping sign. It was too late to try another site, so I searched Google Maps for pet-friendly lodging and chose “Wander Camp.” When I arrived, I was told another customer hadn’t left, so there was no room. “Wander Camp” politely refunded my reservation. I searched again and found Yellowstone Country Inn, listed as pet-friendly on Google Maps. I booked through “Hotels In America” for $198.98, and the reservation was confirmed when I arrived. It was late, and I was hungry, tired, and already frustrated from the effort of finding somewhere to stay. I took my luggage and pup to the room, then walked out to get food. Back in the room, the TV wouldn’t turn on. The showerhead was low, as in many motels, and at 6’4” I had to stoop. The water flow was very poor. At the sink, the cold-water faucet turned on and off, but the valve leaked noticeably when it was on. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was neat, though it needed repairs. The ice machine gave me four cubes and then stopped, apparently empty. I told the clerk about the room and ice machine issues when I checked out. The bigger problem came when I checked my card. Along with the $198.98 booking charge, Yellowstone Country Inn had charged another $250. I called to ask about the extra charge, which was $51.02 higher than my additional booking. They said the property wasn’t pet-friendly, and that the charge covered a pet fee and damages. Google Maps still listed the inn as pet-friendly, while its website said only service animals were permitted. No one asked whether my pup was a service dog before charging me. The damage was already there before I arrived, but I was charged for it too. If the manager makes the extra $250 charge right, I’ll update this review. My advice is to inspect the room carefully and report any problems right away, so you don’t get charged for damage that was already there.

The shower was fantastic and the beds were really comfortable. There wasn’t any dresser or closet space, and the carpets were pretty stained, but I’d probably stay here again. It’s in a great spot, close to everything near the West entrance.

The location near Yellowstone Park is fantastic, and the outside has a cute frontier-town look. Inside, though, it felt like it hadn’t changed since the 1800s. The carpet was so gross we wore flip-flops, and the bathroom update was very cheap-looking. The property seems poorly maintained. The faucet and showerhead leaked, there were no bedside tables or lamps, and the air conditioner needed a deep clean and maintenance. It seemed close to giving out.

I was upstairs and had a wonderful stay. I’d worried because it’s an older hotel, but the room was perfect. It smelled fresh, and the new linens were clean and white. The rooms are gorgeous for the price, and this should be a four-star hotel or more. I only stay at nice, classy places. Daniel T at the front desk was amazing and so helpful. I’m from Butler pa and this is my dream vacation. Thanks to Daniel for all his help. I’m staying three nights. Book here!

When our car broke down on the way to West Yellowstone, we had to move our stay from Thursday to Friday. The other motel we’d booked wouldn’t change the night, but our family members staying at Yellowstone County Inn got theirs changed, and the staff were so helpful and caring. We made it to town by Friday and decided to stay at Yellowstone Country Inn instead. It’s within walking distance of everything, and we had a lovely evening on the porch swings. Thanks for helping our family through such a stressful time. I’m glad we were able to get a room for the night.
