Hampton Inn White River Junction

The property was quiet, well kept, and had lovely scenery. Customer service was excellent, and everyone I met was wonderful. Breakfast was busy, and you could tell they take pride in looking after guests. My son's grandparents were also comfortable in their room. It works well for graduation weekend if you'd rather avoid Hanover's hustle while staying somewhere convenient and pleasant. I enjoyed my day in White River Junction, though the graduation weekend rates felt high for what you get. The A/C unit was noisy, and the furniture between the beds where you plug in phones and electronics was broken. That should have been repaired before check-in.

The renovation looks nice, and the room is clean and beautiful. But there's nowhere to put my things. Seriously, not one drawer in the room, not in the nightstand, not at a desk, and no dresser either. They give you three terrible baskets instead. My lipstick could fall through the gaps, and I expect the baskets to break quickly, leaving guests with nothing. There's space for drawers, but they just aren't there. My stuff is all over the counters and my anxiety is through the roof. I'm on vacation. I chose not to live like a peasant. Please, whoever approved this, go back to design school.

The pool area was very clean, and it's nice that they're pet friendly. That's important for our little girl, “Snowflake.” There's so much to see and do nearby that you could go nuts trying to decide what to do. We've never been disappointed at a Hilton Hampton Inn, and as usual the free breakfast was awesome.

My wife and I booked a room to cut down the drive before my surgery at Dartmouth. Right away, we noticed an animal in the walls that made the lights flicker. I reported it to the night manager, but the hotel was full and he said his hands were tied. In the morning I needed to sterilize before surgery, but the shower was so dirty I couldn't. I took a washcloth from the towel rack inside the shower, and it was visibly too dirty to use. When I brought it up with manager Kelly, she called me a liar and said the rooms were solid concrete so animals couldn't get in. Wiring and plumbing have to run somewhere, and I don't know why she'd claim otherwise. She also gaslit us about the rest of our stay. Nobody offered a resolution. Kelly shouted over me, interrupted, and wouldn't listen, so I finally left. She was belligerent. Everyone else had been pretty great. I reported it to corporate and hope this saves people going to DH medical center some unnecessary stress. We're diamond members, though that shouldn't matter. *edit* Kelly is still arguing here. I wasn't trying to be rude before, but I probably should have been. The hotel was dirty, and you don't know what you're talking about. I tried talking with you, but you were belligerent and ignorant. I tried speaking with your associate, and you interrupted by yelling. What about the wiring and plumbing, and doesn't your building have insulation? This is a corporate issue now, so you can take your hands off it.
