The Firebrand Hotel

We took Amtrak to Whitefish, MT for January 5-9 and were completely wowed by this hotel. The large rooms were comfortable, the staff exceptional, and the spacious lobby had a bar, a fireplace, and lots of cozy chairs and sofas. Daily happy hour came with interesting bites, and the low-key music added a nice feel. The on-site lounge served breakfast and dinner, and we ate all our meals there without leaving. I liked that they kept the Christmas decorations up, it made the place feel like home. We'll most certainly return, and Amtrak was a great way to travel there.

The rooftop hot tub is a great feature, especially in winter, and the beds are comfortable. I've stayed at the Firebrand Hotel a couple of times and would recommend it, though there are things to improve. The location is great, with quaint shops and restaurants an easy walk away, and it's close to the ski slope, though traffic can be a challenge. The exterior and lobby feel warm and cozy. I haven't tried the spa. The gym is small and not very clean: every time I've stayed, the equipment wipes and hand sanitizer were empty despite signs asking people to wipe things down. I've told the front desk each time. The workout mats are gross and need a professional cleaning or replacement. The stair carpet is stained and ugly, though I understand the weather makes keeping it clean hard. I'll try to add room photos on my next visit.

Being able to walk to shops and restaurants made our weekend stay easy. James at the front desk was especially helpful and welcoming, and went out of his way to make sure my husband and I were comfortable with our 3 month old. We mentioned many times how kind he was.

The Firebrand Hotel team made our birthday celebration feel special, and their thoughtfulness really touched us. We felt well cared for throughout the stay, with excellent service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We'd absolutely come back and highly recommend it.
