Airport Lodge Wichita Kansas

The shower was the best part for me: hot water and a strong, satisfying stream. It’s the first decent hotel shower I’ve had in two years, across all sorts of properties. The room, bed, and bath were clean, and the vinyl plank flooring meant no carpet. The TV and fridge both worked great. Check-in was quick and the desk clerk was friendly. They mentioned the hotel had been full the night before, so the room was cleaned but the towels might not have been replaced yet. We did need to ask, but towels arrived quickly and staff followed up to make sure we got them. No frills, but clean.

The room was small but cozy, and it was just right for my date night with my hubby. It’s a basic place without extras, though the bedding was nice and it was moderately clean. The huge retro bathroom was the real highlight, and the shower pressure was great. The staff were very nice, polite, and accommodating. Good value for the money.

We were happy with the room for the price, even though it was small. The bed was comfortable, the sheets clean, and the shower hot with wonderful pressure. After a week there, we never saw a bug of any kind. Before paying, I’d called to ask about bedbug complaints, and the man at the desk said there hadn’t been any and let me inspect the room. I found none. He was exceptionally polite, helpful, and accommodating. Staff left us alone, which suited us since we tend to keep to ourselves and don’t need much attention. Free WiFi was advertised, but even though our room was close to the office, the signal was horrible and we couldn’t stay connected. That was a bummer. Still, it was a positive stay overall.

This was my husband’s first night at the hotel. When he reported bed bugs and a filthy room, staff told him they weren’t bed bugs, said he always causes problems there, and refused to do anything to fix it. They were rude and disrespectful. If they’d at least tried to help, I’d feel differently, but we have zero chance of staying here again. I only gave it one star because the site wouldn’t let me post without one. They deserve zero.
