The room wasn't clean, and even getting basic help was difficult. Staff seemed to avoid the front desk, and when I rang the bell several times, nobody came. The towels they gave us were so stained and dirty they looked brown; he replaced only one. We were also left with half a roll of tissue and couldn't get anyone to bring more. The location was the best part.
For $50 a night, it did the bare minimum as a place to sleep for a few nights, and I'd only return as a last resort. The room had a comfy bed, working AC and heater, hot shower with good pressure, plus a mini fridge, microwave, and TV. The front desk woman was nice too, and gave me plenty of extra shampoo when I asked. But it was one of the grosser hotels I've stayed in, and I wouldn't want to stay long. The nonsmoking room smelled like smoke; the tub had brown stains, the towels were yellow-stained and paper thin, and there were dents and holes in the walls. People would suddenly scream at night, which felt a little unsafe. The ice machine was broken and torn apart. Breakfast was supposed to run 6-9am, but there was basically just coffee and maybe milk. No drinking water was available, so bring some or use the tap. I booked through Airbnb and got a single king room. It was the cheapest option I found for two nights, so I wasn't expecting much, but the place only just did the job.
The outside felt sketchy, and I would have been scared there alone. We stayed because someone close to me was in the hospital across the street, and it felt like that situation was being taken advantage of. The room was filthy: stains on the lampshade, sheets, pillowcases, tub, and towels; sticky floors; questionable splashes on several walls; and some black stuff by the side of the mattress that I couldn't identify. The comforter had a cigarette hole, and the AC leaked water onto the floor. We got one towel, then were told we'd have to wait two or three hours for the housekeeper to arrive before we could get more. This was the dirtiest hotel I've ever stayed in.
My wife and I had just gotten married when, twenty minutes later, her family was in a bad car crash. We stayed across from the Wichita emergency room where they were taken, and this was our honeymoon. The motel was under construction, and after explaining the crisis, the best rate they offered was $75 rather than $85 a night. Later, a room for our extended family was only $65. We paid over $600 for a week, even though the billboard advertised $50 for special occasions. The billboard price didn't match the rates inside; they blamed new management, but the misleading advertising was frustrating. We had to ask two or three times for room service, and nobody was reliably at the help desk. I appreciate any discount, but $10 off felt inadequate in the circumstances.
My mother had a HORRIBLE stay. The hotel smelled, and the towels in her room were dirty. When she asked for fresh towels and linen, they brought her more that looked like they'd been used to clean tires and car engines. We requested a refund and they refused. This place shouldn't be in business.
