Economy Hotel Plus Wichita

I lived at this motel for a year until they abruptly kicked everyone out. The eviction was handled terribly. The officers were rude and showed no empathy, and the managers were mostly just as unhelpful. A lot of people were displaced. I couldn’t retrieve all my belongings, and after I’d just paid $250 rent, it took a week and a half to get my money back. During my stay, people were often lying in the halls using fentanyl and smoking. There were dogs, mainly pit bulls, and urine and feces in the hallways. Rooms were falling apart, and our bedroom ceiling caved in. There were problems throughout the motel. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

For $48 booked online, I got a clean, carpet-free deluxe king room on the ground floor, plus a $15 pet fee. That’s an affordable stay, especially since pets are accepted for a reasonable fee. The attendant has been patient and considerate, and the staff are friendly, even while the hotel is going through a major remodel. Other places like Hawthorne Suites, Extended Stay America, and Red Roof Inn Airport charge deposits up to $250. The bed seems newer and has a mattress cover I wish more hotels used. There’s a TV, remote, basic cable, Wi-Fi, chest of drawers, and a table for working, eating, or thinking. The private bathroom is nice, and the East Mall location is easy for DoorDash to find. There’s also lots of room to walk the dog. They have larger rooms for longer stays, with kitchenettes and double beds. I may check out an upstairs room tomorrow.

This place is a scam. I paid, never stayed, and they still refused to refund me.

I was visiting a friend in their room, and when checkout came around, they couldn’t pay. The office lady came to tell us to leave, yelling that we had less than five minutes. In the rush, I left my Social Security card and ID there by accident. I hope they kept them so I can get them back. They mean a lot to me, and I hope they weren’t thrown away.
