Hampton Inn Wichita Northwest

The room was clean, but small compared with other Hilton hotels. The bigger problem was the high school teens staying on the third floor without adult supervision. My family and I were awake most of the night while they ran up and down the hall yelling, slammed doors, knocked on them, and partied. We texted and called the front desk several times, and someone did come up, but the noise continued until 3 a.m. We gave the hotel another try the next night because of the weather, and again had trouble with partying teens. There are no cameras on the floors to hold them accountable. For the price, guests should be able to sleep peacefully. We won’t stay here again.

The service is what really stood out. Tegan was the first person I met, and she was so kind and thoughtful. When I told her about my long drive, she put together a little snack bag, which was very sweet. In the morning, Johnna was running things and was eager to help with anything. She gave great advice on what to see and do in Wichita and seems to know everyone. Ask her for her list of local restaurants and attractions. Tyler, one of the managers, also quickly helped with whatever came up. He fixed a printer problem for me and let me stay about 30 minutes past checkout when I needed it. I came in after a long road trip and found things as expected. My room was clean, the bed pretty comfortable, and, surprisingly, the shampoo and conditioner were fantastic. Breakfast was standard and the coffee disappointed me, but the rest of the food was tasty. I’m a fan of waffle makers, so I was glad they had two working ones and more than one batter flavor. It’s a solid place to stay, and I’d come back if I get the chance.

The front desk attendant sorted out the problem quickly, and I appreciated that. But I shouldn't have had to find blood smeared across the duvet when my kids and I were getting ready for bed. I know from working in housekeeping that these things can happen, but someone still needs to catch them. At over $100 a night, this was a pretty major miss.

There’s a wetlands area just outside where you can walk around and look for turtles, muskrat, and other wildlife. The hotel is also close to Target, restaurants, and plenty more. I was visiting from out of state and really liked the breakfast, one of the best I’ve had. The bathtub did creak, though, and could use a look.
