Caribbean Motel

We paid $200 a night for this neon green nightmare. I didn’t notice the bathroom until 6:30 in the morning, or I never would have stayed overnight. The shower was covered in BLACK MOLD, and water from the previous guest was still sitting there instead of draining. Absolutely disgusting. My husband and I woke up congested and sneezing after turning on the air conditioner, and I suspect it may have mold spores in it too. I’ve never seen a hotel pool post a sign asking people to shower before swimming, but maybe no one can use those moldy showers. Once I saw it, I woke my husband and we ran out of the room and property in our clothes. I emailed the owner photos and got no response. I also called Paul, the owner. He didn’t understand what the problem was and said he hadn’t received my second email. That’s odd, since his wife had confirmed through that same email and answered a question before this horrendous visit. The Board of Health has been notified too.

The room worked well for us, and we’ll come back. It was quiet, with no trouble from other guests, and the crisp sheets and comfortable bed made for a good stay. The TV and kitchen seemed better than what’s usual in the area. The beach is an easy walk, and the AC can really cool the room down. There was oldies music outside that added a nice vibe. Parking spaces are tight, and there aren’t many amenities besides the pool.

We had a relaxing stay, and everything we needed was close by. Our family of four had enough room, and the rooms were very clean. The staff were all kind and welcoming, and the other guests were nice too. The pool was clean and heated. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year!

We tried this place in July, liked it enough to come back in August, and found it clean and cool both times. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the price is reasonable. It’s one block from the beach and close to the boardwalk.
