The Caprice Motel

Run! We paid close to $800 for three days and the rooms were filthy. There was McDonald's food, the bag, containers, and dust bunnies behind the beds when we swept. The toilet looked like it had never been cleaned, and cockroaches crawled in the bathroom. The refrigerator and microwave had old food and greasy residue, like they hadn’t been cleaned for a year. We asked for extra tiles, and it took two days to get washcloths. The groundskeeper was extremely rude. I told the housekeeping gal we didn’t need service, said the room was on do not disturb, and even put a note on the door. I’d put something behind the door after gently closing it when we went out, and when we came back it had been pushed way against the wall, so housekeeping had entered. The man in the office acted like he had no clue what was going on. When I spoke to the office person about it and asked for a price adjustment, all he said was “I’m sorry,” and that it was out of his control.

The kids had a ball and didn’t want to leave. They’re still talking about the hotel, pool, and beach! We stayed this past July (2025), and now that we know what to expect, we’d definitely stay at the Caprice again. The location is excellent for the beach and Boardwalk, and it’s a good hotel for the price. A Family Dollar was just around the corner, even closer than the Boardwalk. The staff didn’t speak much English, but once they understood what we wanted, everyone was extremely nice and helpful. All the guys in the office went by “Mark.” When I asked one of them about it, he said “it’s just easier for the guests.” We arrived around 3:30, before the 4:00 check-in, and they let us into the room early, no problem. The room was a little dated but clean. There were only a few cooking and eating utensils, and no real pots or pans, so we googled and found a Walmart 15 minutes away, over the bridge as you come into Wildwood. The beds kept shifting at night. I realized there was a mattress on a flat floor board instead of a box spring. Surprisingly, it wasn’t uncomfortable, it just kept shifting. The reviews about the small towels were true. I usually pack my own when traveling because of sensitive skin issues.

Check-in was so fast and check-out was a breeze, thanks to the great staff. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We loved staying here, so close to the beach and boardwalk that getting around was easy. Highly recommend for a Wildwood vacation!

The pool and hot tub are nice, and the location is great, just one block from the boards. We really like the cute rooms with two beds in separate spaces. The bathrooms are small but manageable. Bring a pillow, though, theirs are flat!
