The Carideon Motel

We had three clean rooms on the third floor, and the showers and AC both worked well. The owners were friendly, and there are plenty of family games, four gas grills, a nice deck lounge, and a pool with attractive landscaping around it. The boardwalk is four blocks away, with the first amusement pier another four blocks beyond that. I’d stay here again.

Management was attentive when one of the kids needed first aid, and they were also nice about letting us use one of the three grills after talking with other guests. The location is good, about two blocks from the boardwalk. We’re here for Memorial Day, and it’s been a while since my last visit. The sofa bed pillows smelled like pee, and last night no one seemed to ask the renters to keep the noise down after 11. I couldn’t sleep until 2 a.m., when it finally stopped.

The outside grounds were lovely and the pool was amazing. We had a clean, comfortable efficiency suite on the third floor, facing the pool, with two double beds and a large pull-out bed. The location was great, the service was good, and the staff were very friendly. This was our first visit to the Carideon motel, and we’ll definitely be back. We love this place!

The manager was extremely rude and difficult to talk to when I raised a concern. This was the worst motel experience I’ve had, and I won’t stay here again or recommend it. The beds were very uncomfortable, the shower pressure was lousy, and the hot water ran out much too quickly. Ceiling tiles were falling, and the window curtain broke as soon as I tried to open it. I was in one of their so-called suites. I’d give it zero stars if I could.
