Hotel Cabana Oceanfront/ Boardwalk

The room was mostly clean, but the stay felt more like a night at a roadside motel than a three-star hotel. We were there off-season, and the chilly room had no blankets. The air conditioner kept waking us whenever it switched on, and during a storm the outside hotel sign banged loudly in the wind all night. There was a kitchenette and dishes but not a single mug, and nowhere to hang clothes, not even a hook. There was also no coffee maker in the room or at reception, and none for sale, so getting morning coffee meant driving somewhere. We expected at least three-star service and didn’t get it. Friends paid less at a nearby one-star hotel and had a much better stay. I’d look elsewhere. Not recommended.

The beds were extremely comfortable, and the mini fridge held more than I expected, enough for water and snacks before we moved them into our cooler for the beach. Staff were friendly, though most didn’t speak English, so we used a phone translator. We were able to leave the kids’ stroller under cover near the parking lot, along with our beach cart, which helped a lot. We stayed for a week, and overall it was a good experience. There’s laundry on site, useful for us while potty training our daughter, but each washer or dryer costs $3 in quarters, and you need to bring detergent. Parking is $20 per vehicle unless you have handicap tags. The ramp gives easy access to the boardwalk, although the steps mean the place isn’t handicap friendly. The rooms are tight, so it’s decent if you don’t plan on spending much time in them. The floors could use vacuuming and steam cleaning. The bathroom door opens onto the toilet paper, which could be awkward for a bigger person. The soap dispensers were empty, so bring your own mini toiletries.

Tomi at the front desk gave me and all my friends such great service. She did everything she could to make our stay comfortable, and we’ll definitely be back. The place has that classic Jersey Shore hotel feel with modern upgrades. It’s pet friendly, which made the trip even nicer, and the beach is a relatively short walk away. Lots of food, drinks, and shops are close by too.

The location made this an easy shore getaway, just steps from the boardwalk and a short walk to the beach. Check-in was quick, and the little goodie bag was a thoughtful touch. We found the price good value, enjoyed the friendly service, and would stay again. The beds were comfortable and looked clean, and the room was fairly clean overall, though the baseboards and floors needed more attention. Pool seating filled quickly because guests saved chairs with towels. That didn’t affect us much since we were mainly there for the beach, but it’s something to keep in mind if you want to use the pool. Parking costs $20 a day at the hotel, and street parking, when available, can be expensive during busy periods. A few cleaning improvements would make the stay better, but we still recommend it and look forward to returning.
