Quality Inn Arena

The location and price worked well, and we felt safe. Service was good, but the corporation is responsible for letting each hotel keep up its standards. In our room, the sink drained slowly, the USB port didn’t work, and the air conditioner cover was broken off. One bed was much too soft and the other hard as a rock. Breakfast was a carb overload, with only the little cream cheese packets for protein. The orange juice didn’t seem like orange juice, and the coffee tasted like dishwater.

Two people tried to open my room door during the night, and one nearly got onto the bed. On top of that, the hotel canceled my Expedia reservation, charged me for another night, and now won’t refund what I paid through Expedia. A month later, they’re still refusing to return the money. Customer service has been terrible, and nobody answers.

I didn’t sleep well at all. Light comes in around the curtains and doors, and there’s noise all the time: loud footsteps overhead, plus you can hear people in the next room talking, snoring, even whispering. There’s a one-inch gap under the adjoining-room door, enough for someone to peek in. The hardwood floors don’t help. Breakfast was cold and dry. Some things did work fine: hot water with good pressure, heating and AC, the electrical outlets, and a nice TV. There’s also a fridge and microwave, and check-in was fast and easy. The location is good too. But this felt like a typical two-star place, where a lower price means lower quality. I swear it’s a Quality Inn issue, and I’m about ready to avoid them like Super 8.

The room was decent for the price, and John gave great service in the evening. Breakfast, though, was the cheapest, laziest excuse for one I’ve seen at a Quality Inn. It was bread, more bread, then waffles, which are more bread. No eggs, meat, or anything remotely healthy. Do better.
